Toolbar
The toolbar provides some shortcut buttons for performing the most frequently accessed menu commands.

There are a number of buttons available:

Open on the OptiPath main menu. See Files for more
detail.
Save
File - this is the same as File |

detail.
Use Assemblages - this is the same as
Artifacts | Don't Use
Assemblages on the OptiPath main menu. This button is a toggle - when pressed it
changes to the Don't Use Assemblages button
. See Assemblages
for more detail on what it means to use assemblages.
Don't Use Assemblages - this is the same as
Artifacts | Don't Use
Assemblages on the OptiPath main menu. This button is a toggle - when pressed it
changes to the Use Assemblages button
. See Assemblages
and Artifacts for more detail on what it means not
to use assemblages.
Seriate -
this is the same as
Seriate | Seriate on the OptiPath main menu. This button initiates the
calculation of a new seriation. See Seriate for more
detail.
Reverse Seriation -
this is the same as the Results | Reverse Order and
Seriate | Reverse Order commands on the OptiPath main menu. This will reverse the order
of the current seriation, as seen in the Results table.
Seriation is an ordering technique, not a dating technique. Optimal Path
seriation is able to assign relative dates to the items being seriated; however,
this depends upon the dates you enter as the
Earliest and Latest dates for the
seriation. Even then, without
Earliest and Latest dates for each
artifact (assemblage), OptiPath is not able to orient the direction of the
relative dating - i.e. it does not know which end is earliest and which is
latest. The Reverse command allows you to reverse the order of the
current seriation.
